Coming into the Big 12 championship game, Kansas was dealing with a lot of adversity. They have been without big man Udoka Azubuike for pretty much the whole season and recently lost Lagerald Vick. Those two pieces were clearly missing from the game today against Iowa State. The game opened with Kansas being the 1 point favorite and the over/under at 145. In the first six minutes of the game it was close, until Iowa State went on a run and never looked back. Kansas had a hard time shooting from three only making only 3/18 or 16.7%. Not only were they cold from deep, they struggled inside shooting 28/71 or 39.4%. Give Iowa State credit for showing up and really taking advantage of Kansas because they still have a very talented team. Iowa State came into the game having a 4-0 record in Big 12 championship games and increased it to 5-0 with the 78-66 win. This is the first time in Big 12 history that a team seeded above 4 has won the tournament. Congrats Iowa State on winning arguably the best conference in the country.
