The college basketball offseason is here, and we decided to have some fun over the next few months, ranking ALL 364 teams in D1. Number 274 is Quinnipiac basketball.
Before you say we’re crazy – or that all of this is up for debate, let’s go over the very intricate process of how we came to this conclusion. We took a very statistical approach – with the help of Chat GPT – taking into consideration everything from March Madness wins and finishes, to AP Poll appearances, to conference players of the year. And then, a good friend of ours, Scott Blanchard, took our approach to the MAX.

Overall scoop on Quinnipiac basketball
The Bobcats have a very interesting and somewhat unfortunate history, averaging 15 wins per season but never making the NCAA Tournament in 28 years.
Recently, they’ve been so close, with Tom Pecora leading them to three 20-win seasons since 2022-23. They won the MAAC regular season in back-to-back years in 2024 and 2025, but couldn’t take home the conference tournament either time.
Despite no tourney appearances, the Bobcats have had three MAAC Players of the Year, an incredible number for never once being able to win a conference tourney title. Cameron Young got the award in 2019, Matt Balanc in 2024, and Amarri Monroe in 2025. When the Bobcats played in the NEC, Justin Rutty won the POY award in 2010.
Coach Pecora certainly has the culture turned to winning ways in Hamden, CT, and it just seems like they are bound to make the big dance very, very soon. But even without one, there’s no doubt this program has figured out how to win lots of games in the regular season. They just can’t get the hardest part down.
