The No. 9 Maryland Terrapins (23-7, 13-6) defeated the No. 25 Michigan Wolverines (19-11, 10-9) 83-70 inside the XFINITY Center Sunday afternoon. Terrapin Seniors Anthony Cowan, Travis Valmon and Will Clark got sent out with a win and a share of the Big Ten title.

Leading 41-28 at the break following a Jaylen Smith buzzer beating three pointer, the Wolverines clawed back and trailed by as little as three with 10:22 remaining in the second half. David DeJulius provided a spark for Juwan Howard’s bunch, scoring 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting off the bench. Anthony Cowan also scored 20 points, on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting for the ‘Terps.

With the win, Maryland clinches the double bye in this week’s Big Ten Tournament. They will begin Quarterfinal play on Friday.

The Wolverines will start tournament play on Thursday in the 8/9 game. To say that this year’s Big Ten Tournament is going to be wild is an understatement. Let the madness begin.
