Iowa State as a 7 Seed? You’re out of your mind!!! This is a team who has beaten Kansas State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss ALL ON THE ROAD! Not to mention wins Vs Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas AT HOME. And their neutral site wins Vs Missouri, San Diego State and Drake. They are in the toughest or second toughest conference in the country and within striking distance to win the conference with 3 games to go and you have them as a 7 seed? Seriously? You need to get your eyes checked again. This team has 4 scorers who average double figures a fifth who averages 9.4 ppg. They are one of the highest scoring offenses in the country. Seriously worst seeding I have ever seen from someone….. 7 seed. This is a 4 seed easy, worst seed i would say is a 5.
You can take Oklahoma State off that list twice, and as wel as Missouri and San Diego State (the latter two are okay wins but nothing crazy). Q1 wins in KST, TTech, Ole Miss, KU, and a good win in OU and Drake is good, but it’s a team that has been falling off a bit.
Falling off? I’m confused. Their last 10 they are 6-3. Half their total losses for the year are against two teams. Baylor and TCU. Both who create matchup problems for ISU. When a team has incredible guard play and a former wooden watch player (wiggington) coming off the bench to score 15+ a game this is not a 7 seed. You have Buffalo listed as a 5 seed. Who have they been challenged by to be 2 seed’s higher than ISU? I’m TRYING TO FIND REASONING as to why you are one of 3 people out of 118 mock brackets who list them as a 7 or higher. Makes no sense. Come selection Sunday you will see the committee put them as a 5, maybe even a 4 if they can win 2 of their next 3.
In their last 10, they are 6-4, not 6-3. The best of those 6 wins was Ole Miss, with Texas being the next best. On top of this, they have lost 3 of 5, with two of those being to TCU, a mediocre team with an under .500 record in the Big 12.
Buffalo on the other hand has no real bad losses, and has a great win over Cuse as well as winning in dominate form in a conference ranked in the top 10.
