Cincinnati won in the most Cincinnati way possible. Ugly. Poor shooting and tons of free throws all game long for both sides.
The Bearcats only shot 41.4%, but they held SMU to 37.5% shooting. And they won the turnover battle by 7. This culminated into Cincinnati pushing their NCAA-leading home winning streak to 35, winning the game 76-56.
This is a solid win against a good SMU team for Cincinnati as they look to keep pace with Wichita State at the top of the American Conference.
Gary Clark and Jacob Evans were standouts for the Bearcats with 18 points apiece.
This gives the Mustangs back to back loses in conference play as they fall to 2-2.
SMU should bounce back in their next game against Temple, and then will play a must win game against Wichita State.
