Everyone could see this game was over from the start. The Shockers hit 9 of their first 11 three pointers and made 10 shots from deep in the first half to completely overwhelm Houston, winning the game 81-63.

Wichita State had 4 players finish in double figures which just shows how versatile this team is.

The ball movement was great all game for Wichita State as they doubled Houston in assists 18-9.

The number 9 team in the nation couldn’t have asked for a better start in their new conference starting 2-0 with good wins over UConn and Houston. Both games had  electric environments which should help the Shockers come tournament time.

Overall, this game proved that the Shockers are the team to beat in the American and are one of the best teams in the country.

For Houston on the other hand, this game has to be discouraging for a team who had played well until this point. As a team that has tournament aspirations, a win in Wichita would have gone a long way in bolstering their resume come selection day.

Their best player Rob Gray was held in check all day finishing with 13 points which is well below his season average. It wasn’t just him that struggled as the whole team shot 41.1% and only 26.7% from 3.

They also lost the turnover battle 15-8 which can not happen if any team wants to beat Wichita State. They will have another chance at home to beat the Shockers on January 20.
