Overall scoop on East Texas A&M basketball

Through four years, East Texas A&M has been nowhere near the Texas A&M Aggies, as the Lions have only averaged 10.5 wins per season, playing in the Southland.

Years one and two were very similar, winning 13 games and losing 20. Year three saw a major dip, as they went just 5-26. But they went 11-21 last year, sort of turning it around.

Head coach Jaret von Rosenberg took over in 2017 and led the Lions to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments at the DII level.

It’s also worth noting that they were previously known as Texas A&M-Commerce and only became East Texas A&M in 2024.
