The college basketball offseason is here, and we decided to have some fun over the next few months, ranking ALL 364 teams in D1. Number 363 is Le Moyne basketball.

Before you say we’re crazy – or that all of this is up for debate, let’s go over the very intricate process of how we came to this conclusion. We took a very statistical approach – with the help of Chat GPT – taking into consideration everything from March Madness wins and finishes, to AP Poll appearances, to conference players of the year. And then, a good friend of ours, Scott Blanchard, took our approach to the MAX.

Overall scoop on Le Moyne basketball

Three years in, and the Dolphins are still searching for their first-ever winning season at the D1 level. They have come close twice, with a 15-17 finish in 2023-24 and the same record last season. And both of those years, they finished above .500 in the NEC.

But in between that was a brutal 9-23 season where it was clear there would be a lot of growing pains up at the highest level.

There are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about the future of Le Moyne basketball. Head coach Nate Champion only graduated from Le Moyne in 2014, so the Dolphins are coached by a bright, young mind eager to get the program moving in the right direction. But it won’t be easy in one of the least competitive conferences in college basketball. Still, three years in, and at least they’re not dead last in our rankings!
