I decided to take my recent Twitter thread and turn it into an article, every day, until the March Madness field is selected.

So, whether it’s one or two teams with some of their eyes on March Madness, I’ll break each game down and explain what makes it so important.

Of course, a lot of teams are still vying to be under consideration, but each day, I’ll highlight the absolute best ones to keep a watch on.

Let’s go!

Kent State (16-5, 7-2) at Akron (17-4, 8-1) – 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network

For how great Miami (OH) has been, Akron is sneakily 17-4, 52nd in the NET Rankings, and 54th in KenPom. That’s right on line with being a bubble team in the NCAA Tournament. Dare I say two-bid MAC?
This game will be a challenge for the Zips, though. Delrecco Gillespie is one of the toughest players to guard in the conference.

Dartmouth (9-9, 3-2) at Yale (15-3, 4-1) – 7 p.m. on ESPN+

Are we seriously going to talk about Yale as an at-large? Why not? They’re 53rd in NET and have a star in Nick Townsend. But they need to win practically all of their Ivy League games.

Dartmouth is pesky, and at 3-2 in the Ivy League, this should put the Bulldogs on alert.

#3 Michigan (19-1, 9-1) at #7 Michigan State (19-2, 9-1) – 8 p.m. on FOX

Talk about a game to get lost in on your Friday night! Number three Michigan comes in following a statement win over Nebraska. In-state rival and number seven Michigan State barely escaped Rutgers, but they are off to their best start in some time. For both teams, earning a one seed is still in play with a month and a half to go until the March Madness field is picked.

Dayton (14-7, 5-3) at #21 Saint Louis (20-1, 8-0)

Robbie Avila saved the day for Saint Louis the last time out, nailing a game-winning three-pointer to help the Billikens stay undefeated in the Atlantic 10.

Now, they’re tasked with a tough Dayton team to figure out. There is still some belief that the Flyers will end the season strong and push for a March Madness berth. The metrics aren’t in their favor, but a win over Saint Louis would change that.

If you’re the Billikens, you’ve got to win games against the top teams in the conference to help your case and get the best seed possible. They’re not a lock yet, but they’re close.
