Harrisonburg, VA —A kick-out triple was all they needed.

The Maryland alumni squad Shell Shock won the James Madison Regional with a 68-62 win over Philadelphia-based NXT ERA Elite. Though Shell Shock was down by double digits in the fourth quarter, the former Terrapins strung together a 12-0 run heading into the Elam Ending to silence NXT ERA Elite.

Then, of course, the final dagger was delivered via another triple for a sprinkle of deja vu.

Shell Shock was led by Ronald March, who scored a game-high 21 points including the game-winner. March had been a key element to the team’s offense, scoring at last eight points in all three regional games.

Anthony Tarke strung together a double-double — the first double-double of the regional — to round of March’s offensive efforts. Tarke’s 10 rebounds was the most of the entire game, and his 12 points was matched by Kevon Voyles.

Point guard Darryl Morsell was the final Shell Shock player in double figures, scoring 11 points and recording four assists.

NXT ERA Elite’s Sage Tolbert also recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds, picking up the marker just a few plays after March recorded his. Jordan Dingle and Bruce Massey Jr. were the only other two to reach double figures for the Philly squad.

Neither team shot great from the field, with both shooting below 40% for the entire game until the Elam Ending. At one point, both squads held each other without a score for four possessions, with NXT ERA Elite ended the streak and igniting its last major scoring run of its tournament.

Shell Shock will play in the TBT Quarterfinals at West Virginia, facing off against Best Virginia — the WVU alumni crew. That game is set for July 28 at 6 p.m.
