Latest on Chattanooga basketball:
In their latest game against Tennessee Wesleyan, the Mocs came out with a 99-52 win. Chattanooga was led by junior guard Honor Huff who posted 20 points. Huff is returning for his third year with Chattanooga. Also providing for the Mocs is senior guard Trey Bonham who had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in their game against Wesleyan. This is his second season at Chattanooga after averaging 10.7 points last season.
The Mocs are led by head coach Dan Earl who is in his third season at Chattanooga. Earl comes from a seven-year position at VMI who is a rival of Chattanooga and is also in the Southern Conference. Many of the players on the current roster for the Mocs are transfers from VMI. Earl led the team to 21 wins last season, which were the most in a season for his Division 1 head coaching career and also resulted in a third-place conference finish for Chattanooga.
Latest on Indiana basketball:
The Hoosiers are coming off of a 17-point loss to Nebraska with a final score of 68-85. After yet another very disappointing loss for fans, it is evident that there are still a lot of problems that need to be addressed by this Indiana squad. While Myles Rice did lead IU with 20 points, scoring appears to be an issue as they only scored one point in the last 6:51 of the game. Within that time, Indiana missed 12 straight field-goal attempts and finished the game shooting 35.4% from the field and 22.9% from the 3-point line. This game proved that the very talented Myles Rice needs some backup.
The Hoosiers are now 8-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Indiana vs. Chattanooga Prediction: Hoosiers by 15 (85-70)
Indiana by 15. After over a week since their game against Nebraska, IU is going to be ready to have a good showing to prove the talent that they undoubtedly have. Once this team figures out their chemistry and how to put all the individual parts together, they are going to be hard to stop.
