Auburn basketball looks to carry momentum into the midweek contest with Kent State.

Auburn basketball takes on Kent State on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. CST (8 p.m. EST). The short and successful road trip brings Auburn back for a series of two games, starting with the Golden Flashes.

What to know about Kent State 

The Golden Flashes finished the 2023-24 season 17-17 with an 8-10 record in the MAC. In his fourteenth season with the team, head coach Rob Senderoff has his team out to a 2-0 start with wins over Louisiana and Miami-Hamilton. 

They are led by All 2024-MAC tourney forward VonCameron Davis, the fifth-year senior has spent his entire collegiate career with the team and has been frequently in the starting lineup the last three seasons. 

After averaging 13.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 1.4 APG in the 2023-24 season, Davis has started the season hot, averaging 17.5 PPG through the first two games. 

The Golden Flashes will look to end the Tigers’ 55-game home winning streak against non-conference opponents in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. 

Latest on Auburn basketball

Auburn basketball jumped to the top spot in KenPom after their upset victory over Houston and was done so by significant minutes off the bench.

The Tigers had 39 points off the bench, over double the bench points of the Cougars (17). Auburn got significant contributions from the freshman guard Taahad Pettiford, who scored 21 points in his second career game, and 11 points from forward Chaney Johnso, who recorded his first career double-double with the Tigers. 

After an incident during Auburn’s travel to the game, the team was without Jahki Howard and Ja’Heim Hudson this past Saturday. They will look to add them back to the lineup on Wednesday. 

After the Tigers’ game against Kent State on Wednesday, they will play their final home game for nearly three weeks against North Alabama on Monday, November 18.

In the meantime, they will fly to Hawaii to face Iowa State in the first round of the Maui Invitational tournament on November 25. Then, Auburn will travel to Durham, North Carolina, following that trip to where the Tigers look to get their first-ever win over the Duke Blue Devils on December 4 for the ACC/SEC challenge.
