The Panthers travel to Chicago coming off of a 111-90 blowout victory over the College of Biblical Scholars Ambassadors.

The team never allowed their opponents to outscore them the entire game. In the first half, they scored 47 points to the Ambassadors 37. In the second, Prairie View A&M outscored their opponents 64-53.

The team boasts a four-headed beast in their starting lineup, with four out of their starting five scoring over 10 points, three of which scored over 20.

The team is led by returning sophomore point guard Orlando Horton Jr, who scored 28 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals in their first game. He also went scorched earth on the Ambassadors, going 9-11 (81.8%) from the field and a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc.

The Panthers also have junior shooting guard Nick Anderson, who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal in their last matchup. The lineup also features graduate point guard Tanahj Pettway and sophomore forward Marcel Bryant, who scored 24 points and 12 points respectively. Bryant himself nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds.

Latest on DePaul basketball

The DePaul basketball team put their fans on the edge of their seats in their overtime win over Southern Indiana. With the team coming off of their 80-78 win, they’re looking to go 2-0 for the first time since the 2022-23 season.

The team was led by three players. The most impactful was sophomore guard Jacob Meyer, who scored 23 points while shooting 4-9 (44.4%) from the three. He was also the man who forced a clutch three-point shot to send the game to overtime.

Graduate transfer guard Isaiah Rivera was the overall leader for the team against the Screaming Eagles, scoring 25 points, five rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in the win. He was also the most consistent shooter, completing 5-9 (55.6%) from beyond the arc and 10-17 (58.8%) overall.

In the paint, the leader of that department was graduate transfer David Skogman, who scored a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He also was perfect in the perimeter, going 3-3 against Southern Indiana.

The team won despite being outscored in the paint 40-28 and poor free throw shooting, going 8-22 (36.36%) from the line.

If DePaul basketball can repeat their performances from this past Monday, while also improving on their free-throw shooting and interior defense, fans can expect another thrilling matchup.
