Kansas State forward Coleman Hawkins was named to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Watch List, the school announced Thursday.

Hawkins, a fifth-year senior who transferred this past offseason from Illinois, had a tremendous season for the Illini in 2023-24. The Sacramento, California native was the third-highest scorer on the team (12.1 PPG) to go along with a team-best 6.1 RPG. Hawkins’ defensive prowess was crucial to the Illini’s success last season, as the team advanced to the Elite Eight before being eliminated by the eventual-champion UConn Huskies.

Hawkins’ performance earned him All-Big Ten Second Team honors last season. This is the second-straight season that Hawkins appears on the Karl Malone Watch List.

The Wildcats begin their season on Nov. 5 against New Orleans. Fans may begin voting for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award on Nov. 1.
