They finished an overall record of 21-9, however, they had an upsetting end to their season losing in the PacWest Championship against Azusa Pacific University 78-66.

Latest on Arizona basketball
The Wildcats’ dominant win over the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds has provided fans with real excitement for a tremendous opening season in the Big 12. The outing against Point Loma should serve the same, seeing some flashes of talent and skill before coming out in full force for the regular season.
The star of the last game was one of Arizona’s newest transfers, Trey Townsend. Townsend had 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. While Townsend headlined a defiant Arizona win, there were many newcomers to making their efforts heard.
Tennesse transfer Tobe Awaka, dropped 14 points and 15 rebounds. Henri Veesaar, a redshirt sophomore, made his first appearance for the Wildcats since the 2023 preseason game against Lewis-Clark State. Veesaar would drop 19 points on 8-9 shooting from the field. Freshman stud, Carter Bryant, made some noise with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, a steal, and an assist.
Surely Arizona will be looking to give these fresh faces more chances with the ball, so don’t be surprised with a big performance from any of the above.
Looking ahead
Arizona begins its regular season in a matchup against Canisius University in McKale Center on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. This will be the first time the Wildcats have met the Golden Griffins since 12/31/1953, in which Arizona would win 79-58 away in Buffalo, N.Y.
