Herd That is back with a vengeance this summer, and plan on taking down everyone in their path.
Herd That is one of the staples in The Basketball Tournament and has shown tremendous talent year after year. After reaching last year’s semifinals, they are determined to go even further in this year’s race. Will they have the team to get them there?

Team MVP: Chris Cockley
Cockley wasn’t a member of Herd That last year, but fans should be ready to fully embrace this new face. In last year’s tournament, he averaged 21 PPG and 12 RPG as a small forward. Cockley is one of the biggest guys on the Herd That roster, making him a key player down in the post. With his shooting and rebounding abilities, he could lead this team to much success.
Make-or-break Player: Jarrod West
As one of the three-point guards on this squad, West could see a lot of playing time if the stamina isn’t there. He’s going to have to improve upon last year’s performance, however, after only averaging one of anything per game. The Marshall/Louisville alum was very talented back in his college career, and he’s certainly capable of making big plays when needed.
Team Outlook
Jon and Ot Elmore are back again, with Jon leading the team as a player, and Ot as a coach. Jon is arguably a top 5 player in TBT history, and he’s still only 28. Meanwhile, Ot is a top 5 personality, so having him on the sideline and hearing him do interviews will be a treat.
We also can’t overlook DeAndre Kane, who in the past, has been a key contributor in The Basketball Tournament, arguably on the event’s all-time Mount Rushmore. As he’s aged, his contributions have gone down, but he’s still a great player to have on your team.
Herd That went the furthest they’ve ever gone last year, making it all the way to the semi-finals. With a lot of returning players and talented new ones, they have a chance to pick up right where they left off. Their biggest challenge could come in Round 3 if Kentucky alumni team La Familia lives up to their number two seeding. Herd That will be expected to do some damage as the one seed, but could that number go to their heads?

[…] rival. If they win that one, it gets a lot harder, as they’d most likely have to face Herd That, the Marshall alumni team, and then La Familia, the Kentucky alumni team. This region is stacked, […]
