With the 2024 NBA Draft fast approaching, these are the top three-point shooters to keep an eye on.
10. Pelle Larsson, Arizona (Sr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 46-108 (42.6%)
A 6-5 guard, Larsson enjoyed his first season in four years of at least 100 three-point attempts. He was never the main scoring option at Arizona, but also likes to pick his spots. Playmaking is a big part of Larsson’s game and he won’t jack up contested threes. But when Larsson does fire, he’s very dangerous.
I’m not sure how Larsson will fit in the NBA, but it will have to be with a team that can utilize the tempo he likes to play with and more importantly, how he sees the game. Larsson has always been an above-average three-point shooter but only averaged 2.6 attempts in his college career, so it will be interesting to see if he has to adjust to taking more in The Association.
9. Kyshawn George, Miami-Fla (Fr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 53-130 (40.8%)
A native of France, George played one season at Miami and showed off his deep range, hitting over 40% of his treys.
The Hurricanes lost the last ten games of the season and missed the NCAA Tournament, but George was a bright spot. Even though he averaged fewer than 8 PPG, he still showed his three-point capabilities and wasn’t afraid to step a few feet outside the arc. While George’s overall game hasn’t even touched its potential, and he might need to put on some strength, he can certainly splash it from deep.
8. Dalton Knecht, Tennessee (Gr.-Sr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 93-234 (39.7%)
Knecht’s percentage is lower than some players on here, but he deserves a slight pass because of how many shots he was asked to take at Tennessee. While Knecht is a shooter, he’s also a scorer and takes arguably more contested shots than anyone else on here.
Regardless, Knecht is deadly from deep range and can be a microwave when he really gets going. I’ve got to believe his game will translate to the NBA because he always saw the opposing team’s best defender in college. We also shouldn’t ignore his six makes against Purdue in the Elite 8. Knecht performs best when it matters the most.
7. Baylor Scheierman, Creighton (Gr.-Sr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 110-289 (38.1%)
Scheierman is more than just a three-point shooter, but throughout his career, over half of his field goal attempts have been from beyond the arc. Last year, Scheierman made over 100 trifectas, the most of anyone on this list.
To start his NBA career, Scheierman will be looked at as a role player, and won’t have to jack up as many threes as in the Bluejays offense. His percentage should be better, but it is worth noting, he wasn’t able to match his 46.9% clip from three as a junior at South Dakota State. Tougher defense in the Big East is worth a small look at his dip in percentage, but overall, it shouldn’t have a major effect.
6. Antonio Reeves, Kentucky (Gr.-Sr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 84-188 (44.7%)
Talk about someone who worked on his craft each year. Reeves came into college at Illinois State in 2019-20 and made 31.4% of his threes. The potential was there and after hitting 30.6% as a sophomore, he burst onto the scene as a junior, knocking down 39.0% of his three-pointers. As a senior at Kentucky, Reeves made 39.8% from behind the arc, and finally enjoyed a ridiculous super-senior season by hitting virtually 45% of his threes.
Reeves is more than just a shooter though, which is huge for his NBA status. He knows how to pick the right spots on the floor to get open and plays with some quickness. Defenders have to be honest when he has the ball, so it can create enough separation when he does want to rise and fire. There’s no reason why Reeves can’t be a solid player in the pros.
5. Alex Karaban, UConn (So.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 81-214 (37.9%)
I’ve watched a lot of UConn games and Karaban’s 3P% doesn’t tell the whole story. In fact, as a freshman, he made over 40% of his shots from deep.
For me, Karaban has the sweetest stroke of anyone in the 2024 NBA Draft, and at 6-8, seems like the perfect small forward three-point specialist in the NBA. Plus, his job will be primarily to knock down threes, whereas some of the guys on this list will have other duties. I think that’ll work in Karaban’s favor.
4. Rob Dillingham, Kentucky (Fr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 64-144 (44.4%)
Dillingham just about matched Reeves at a 44.4% clip from behind the arc but the difference is he did it as a freshman.
As a playmaking point guard, Dillingham affects all parts of the game but can get hot from three. He hit at least four threes on four occasions and each time, made at least 50% of his attempts. Dillingham isn’t afraid to let it fly, and when he starts out hot, he usually keeps it going. Plus, at 19 years old, he’s got a long way to go and can still develop and get better. That’s a scary thought.
3. Jared McCain, Duke (Fr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 87-210 (41.4%)
I’m all in on Jared McCain thanks to how he finished the end of the season, especially from three. While he hit over 41% of his threes throughout the year, McCain had some big games toward the end. He went 8-for-11 from deep in a February game at Florida State, 8-for-11 again against James Madison in the NCAA Tournament, and 5-of-11 from three against NC State, who Duke ultimately lost to in the Sweet 16.
If McCain needs to work on one things, it’s his consistency. He had some games where he couldn’t find his shot. But once that comes, the confidence and skill are both there. McCain could wind up being one of the best offensive players in the 2024 NBA Draft.
2. Cam Spencer, UConn (Gr.-Sr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 99-225 (44.0%)
While I think Karaban has a better NBA future, you can’t deny the numbers with Spencer, his UConn teammate. The Rutgers transfer played five seasons of college basketball and only shot below 40% from three in a season one time. His career percentage is 41.7%, which shows Spencer already has what it takes to impact an NBA team from day one.
For the 6-4 Spencer, the bigger question is if he’s deadeye enough of a shooter to stick in the NBA. He’ll have to work on defense and ball-handling skills to make it in the long run, but his shooting will get him a fair chance.
1. Reed Sheppard, Kentucky (Fr.)
2023-24 stats 3P stats: 75-144 (52.1%)
Shooting over 50% from deep as a freshman in the SEC is insane to think about, but such is the case for Reed Sheppard. The Kentucky star isn’t afraid to put the ball on the deck, which opens him up outside the arc, where he is as deadly a shooter as they come.
Sheppard will have time to develop his overall game for the NBA, but right off the bat, whoever drafts him is getting one of the top three-point threats in the league before he even steps foot on a pro basketball court.

[…] Sheppard is still on the board, why not make it an all-Kentucky draft? Dillingham and Sheppard are two of the best shooters in the 2024 NBA Draft and while it’s not something San Antonio desperately needs, does it really hurt to add […]
