These past few weeks have been very important for colleges next year. The former #1 recruit made his college decision, and a top player from 2020 reclassified to this year, and is now the current #4. Here is a recap of all that happened.
Memphis
Memphis finally got the prize they have been waiting for, the #1 recruit James Wiseman. Wiseman was coached by Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway when he was in AAU, and that connection was enough for the Tigers to land him. This gives Memphis their first 5 star, and bumps them up to #9 in my recruiting rankings next year.
Oregon
Oregon signed to big players recently, starting with Chandler Lawson. Lawson, the brother of Kansas players Dedric and KJ, picked Oregon over Kansas. One week later, CJ Walker, a forward, joined Lawson on the Ducks. These two 4 stars will be big parts of a conference already stacked with recruits for next year.
Indiana
Indiana, who haven’t had much luck recruiting so far, saw their luck change when 5 star Trayce Jackson- Davis committed. Jackson- Davis is currently the #16 recruit in the country, and will be a huge boost for the team next season
Anthony Edwards
Edwards made a big decision to reclassify and head to college a year early, and is now listed as the #4 recruit. His final 8 schools are Kansas, Michigan St, UNC, Kentucky, Duke, Florida St, UCLA, and Georgia. He is most likely to pick between Michigan State and Florida State.
Vernon Carey
Vernon Carey will be announcing his college decision Tuesday, December 6th. His top 3 are Duke, UNC, and Michigan State. Carey is the #2 recruit currently.
Matthew Hurt
Matthew Hurt is down to 6 schools. The #7 recruit will decide between Duke, Memphis, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, and Villanova. He will visit Kentucky first, but at the moment Kansas seems to be the favorite.
