Trae Young has been a revelation for Lon Kruger’s Sooner team this season. Young followed up his 39 point outing versus the Frogs on December 30th with 43 today. Young also had the assist that set up the go-ahead 3 from Christian James in regulation. But with 6.2 seconds left, there was enough time for TCU guard Jaylen Fisher to send the game into overtime tied at 89.

In the overtime period, the Sooners relied on their star freshman to lead their team to victory. Young hit a huge 3 with 2:06 in overtime to give the Sooners a 99-94 advantage. Young also put the game on ice hitting a free throw that gave OU a 102-97 lead, capping off his 43 point performance.

Jaylen Fisher’s 22 points were not enough for TCU, as they have now lost 2 straight. TCU falls to 13-4 and 1-4 in conference and will host Iowa State on Wednesday before going to Kansas State next Saturday.

Oklahoma improves to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Sooners will hit the road with 2 straight road games against Kansas State on Tuesday and Oklahoma State next Saturday.
