- Nov. 1 vs. Villanova (W, 74-72)
- Guard play is a HUGE improvement. For the past few years, Notre Dame relied on a shot dominant player in Markus Burton. Not only do Braeden Smith and Braeden Shrewsberry seem to fit well together offensively, but they made huge impacts defensively. Four steals for Smith and one for Shrewsberry. They might be a fairly underrated duo.
- Watch out for Brady Koehler! The rising sophomore had 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the win. Plus, he had one huge highlight dunk. Logan Duncomb seemed to be moving pretty slow on a leg injury, but Koehler picked up the slack for sure.

- Nov. 1 vs. Notre Dame (L 74-72)
- Luigi Suigo will be a fun project. He’s 7-foot-3 and nearly 300 pounds, and moves better than you would imagine. Definitely a liability in pick and rolls and some close outs, but Kevin Willard turned a raw 7-footer in Romaro Gill at Seton Hall into a defensive monster. Suigo’s potential is even so much more than that.
- Don’t leave Jake Fiegen open! Dude is ALWAYS looking to get a shot off. Played 38 minutes too. Seems like he’s already a fan favorite of Kevin Willard.
- Is there concern for the Wildcats? 5 points on one shot attempt in 32 minutes for Devin Royal. 2-for-7 from the field for Buddy Simmons. 2-for-7 off the bench for Kwame Evans. Notre Dame was active defensively, but Willard definitely needs to get this unit to gel.
