Four star guard Kiyan Anthony, son of Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, commits to Syracuse.
On3’s No. 30 overall recruit in the 2025 class picked the Orange over Southern California.
The 6’ 5” shooting guard out of Long Island Lutheran High School is one of the top prospects in New York State’s Class of 2025.
“The coaches were on me the earliest and they’ve been recruiting me since day one,” Kiyan Anthony told 247 sports. “They really believe in me. My guy Sadiq (White) is already going there and they’re trying to get a few more players for 2025. I feel like they’re really building something there and if I were to go there I could be a part of that.”
Like father, like son? The Orange are hoping that’s the case. The last time an Anthony was a Syracuse freshman, Syracuse was title town.
His father, Carmelo Anthony, spent his one collegiate year at Syracuse, taking the Orange to their only national championship win in 2003. He then went onto a future first-ballot Hall of Fame worthy 19 year NBA career, knotting ten All-Star selections and becoming top ten in NBA points all-time.
He announced the decision on his father’s podcast, “7 PM in Brooklyn”.
Anthony joins a freshman class of four star forward Sadiq White from IMG Academy (FL), 6’ 5” guard Aaron Womack from Milwaukee, and Australian guard Luke Fennell.
