Kentucky Rolls Past Alabama in SEC Semifinals
No. 4 University of Kentucky Wildcats out shot, out ran, and out did No. University of Alabama Crimson Tide 86-63 to secure a spot in the SEC tournament.
Key piece of the Alabama family and team, Donta Hall, received a concussion which took out his effective presence on both ends of the court.
This changed everything for Alabama, and there work in the tournament was mostly finished after they upset tournament-bound Texas A&M.
Wildcats’ Wenyen Gabriel put up a 3-point shooting clinic, going 7-for-7 and scoring 23. This was only his second career game where he scored 20 or more points.
Only three SEC players in the past 20 seasons have hit seven 3-pointers without a miss in a game.
With eight lead changes in the first 7:04, the first half was too close too early. The Crimson Tide managed to stay within four points of Kentucky for the first 15:48 before stalling out.
Kentucky will now play for the SEC Tournament Championship title against the winner of the No. 6 Arkansas and No. Tennessee game.
